BIRTH DATE, BIRTHPLACE, AND DATE OF DEATH:  Steve was born on February 24, 1955 in San Francisco,
California. He died in Palo Alto, California, USA on October 5, 2011 due to
Pancreatic Cancer. (Leadership report on Steve jobs,2018). INFLUENCES: Jobs was very much influenced by the spiritual books.
His readings included books like ‘Be Here
Now’ a guided meditation by Guru Ram Das, ‘Autobiography of a Yogi’ by an Indian yoga guru Paramohansa
Yogananda. Steve actually went to India seeking enlightenment. Meditation
helped him realized that he has some unfulfilled work because of which he went
back to west. Other books like ‘KING LEAR’ by William Shakespeare and ‘MORY
DICK’ by Herman Melville, helped him in shaping as great leader (Baer and
Lebowitz, 2015).  Edwin land, and Steve
woznaik were one of the few people who influenced Steve in his life. Just like
Edwin, Steve dropped out of college and created a giant corporation (Blodget,
2011).  Steve woznaik was the one who
invented first product and was responsible for initial development stages of Apple
company (kovach,2011). Jobs stated that taking on drugs also helped him
understanding the reality of life. (Mackey,2011). EDUCATION: Steve jobs graduated from homestead high school in 1972(Anzur,2011).
After graduating from the school, he went to reed college. He was not that
interested in all the courses so he dropped and took classes of calligraphy and
philosophy. (Frost, 2014) ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
In 1977, Apple launched Apple 2, which became famous as first personal
computer all over the world. During 1980, Apple issued shares in the market and
on the first day Steve became owner of $239 million dollar. In 1986, Steve
bought Pixar animation for 10 million dollars. After making Pixar public Jobs
became billionaire. Within 12 years’ Apple launched iMac, iPhone, iTunes music
stores and became worth of 342 billion dollars in 2011. (Leadership report on

iPad, iPhone or laptop, one can always see the
perfection in these gadget. Even though Mr. Jobs did not have the knowledge to
write programs, he still managed to build a successful company. After he left Apple,
Mr. Jobs started a new company which was named Next. This company helped in
making computers which were used in corporations and in schools (Nath,2018).
Jobs did lot of charity. He donated around 50 million dollars to hospitals
(Nath,2018). Recycled plastics and paper were used for making products, which were
energy efficient too (Nath,2018). The creativity of Jobs helped to bring change
and competition to the entire technology industry. He also bought Lucas films
which later was changed to Pixar and made it a number one company by releasing
the film Toy Story (1995) which led
to the development of animation movies in the world (Nath,2018). Jobs extreme
understanding of calligraphy helped him in giving the world different fonts.  His extraordinary ability to lead, to focus
helped in inventing Apple2, iPad, iPhone, iTunes, mac. After his death many out
there gave tribute, left flowers outside retail stores and change their profile
pictures to apple. (Leadership report on Steve Jobs,2011)

There are three famous leadership
styles, which are Authoritative, democratic and laissez-fair. Steve Jobs do not
fall into any one particular leadership style. He had a unique style of leadership.
He used to make blunt criticisms toward employees and would ask for their
participation and their ideas. There were always group discussions.
(Mclnerney,2011). As he was a perfectionist, he wouldn’t tolerate anything
negative happening to the company. He was very authoritative in the company’s
vision.  There are instances and
evidences where he has been proved to be a motivator and an extreme critic. For
example, Jobs’ example of motivation is when he returned to Apple for a campus tour,
he went to the design area, where he talked to Jonathan Ive about his design. After
looking at the designs, he bluntly criticized Ive, and asked why he was still
at Apple. However, after listening to Ive’s future vision Jobs motivated Ive
and asked him to make new designs. As a result, the Apple logo and headphones
you use today are Ive’s design (Leadership report on Steve jobs, 2018). Another
example of Steve’s blunt criticism can be shown when he worked with Pixar.
Whenever there was a problem with the movie or the set, director Ed Catmull
would ask Steve to have chat with director. Steve would explain it very clearly
that the work being done is not correct and should be done perfectly right. It
did not matter to Jobs that how he will be perceived by others. All mattered to
him was his vision towards the company. (Gayomali, 2015)

Steve Jobs was a Confident
and motivating person. Whatever he did was perfectly right. There are many
instances where he proved to be a confident person. Apple’s 1997 Think Different commercial, stated “the
people who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world are the
ones do” (Evans, 2015). This statement proves he believed in himself no matter
what others thought.  Another example of
his Confidence
is when he dropped out of college not knowing what to do, but still he managed
to become successful. In a Stanford speech by Steve Jobs, he remarked: “I had
no idea what I wanted to do with my life and no idea how college was going to
help me figure it out. And here I was spending all of the money my parents had
saved their entire life. So I decided to drop out and trust that it would all
work out okay” (Frost, 2014). Regarding Intelligence, Apple designs are
great example of Steve’s intelligence. Steve was very much interested in
calligraphy and keen observer of art. He used his calligraphy knowledge to make
Macintosh fonts which was remarkable in the world of technology. Jobs told the Stanford graduates,
“When we were designing the first Macintosh computer, it all came back to
me. And we designed it all into the Mac. It was the first computer with
beautiful typography. If I had never dropped in on that single course in
college, the Mac would have never had multiple typefaces or proportionally
spaced fonts. And since Windows just copied the Mac, it’s likely that no
personal computer would have them” (Frost, 2014). It was Steve Jobs’ Determination
which helped in establishing such a great enterprise. When Steve Jobs left, Apple
profits started to decrease. However, he came back in 1996, took up leading the
company and again took it to new heights.  He launched iPad, iMac, iPhone and all great
things of which people are a big fan (Hattersley,2014).

CONCLUSION: Right from beginning whether it was being given up by
parents to becoming a millionaire to losing life to a ruthless disease it was
not easy. Past all this, the unique leadership style, he exercised to establish
remarkable institution proves he possessed every single quality that a great
leader needs whether it was confidence, determination or intelligence.
